“Fifth
generation of Computer” (1991- continued)
- All the computers which use
Bio-chips or ULSI chips that are able to store millions of components on a
single chip as their memory components are Classified into fifth generation of
computer. Millions of transistors are placed in a
single IC in ULSI chips. During this generation period 64 bit microprocessors
have been developed. These computers have large memory, It’s storage have been very increased like Memory chips and
flash memory up to 1 GB, hard disks up to 600 GB & optical disks up to 50
GB and many more have been developed. This generation of computers will
have Artificial Intelligence which includes areas like specialist System, ,
faster processing speed, very reliable, very faster, low cost, cheaper, understand
Natural Language, speech recognition, voice recognition, robotics, etc and many
more. The goal of fifth
generation computing is to expand computers that are capable of knowledge and
self-organization. The fifth generation computers are based on Artificial Intelligence. Now the computer scientist are
trying to develop the human way of thinking and reasoning. Some of the
modern computer belongs to this computers.
·
Characteristics of fifth generation of computer
-
Bio-chips
or ULSI will be used as their memory device.
-
Acceptance
of Parallel Processing.
-
It
will be more reliable and faster than previous generation.
-
It
will be Cheaper and faster than previous generation.
-
It
will use of AI in full field.
-
It
will understand Natural language.
-
It
will use Prolog as Operating system.
When was it invented and by whom ?
ReplyDeleteIf I'll get this information I would be very happt
Fifth generation of computer hasn't started until now but there is a lot of progress on the field such as AI, Programming languages which are key part of fifth generation.
DeleteNice post.Keep updating Artificial Intelligence Online Course
ReplyDeleteWhat is its processing speed
ReplyDeleteFifth generation isn't start untill now. It might be more than Millions of instructions per second (MIPS)
